"Mathematics has beauty and romance. It's not a boring place to be, the mathematical world. It's an extraordinary place; it's worth spending time there."

Welcome to University High School's Math Club! Whether you are a well experienced mathematical competitor or a student wishing to explore the world of competitive mathematics, this is the place for you! We participate in a variety of competitions nationally and locally, including, but not limited to, the AMC series, Log 1, Rocket City, and Mathleague. As a result, we are sometimes able to travel to different states to compete. |
The UHS Math Club is a club for people who like math. It’s simple, really.
Sponsored by Mr. Thomas Gribble, math teacher extraordinaire, the Math Club is the entity in University High School that runs, hosts, and participates in math contests. The club consists of students who meet weekly in Mr. Gribble's room to receive and explain practice materials, discuss the club’s funds, and organize upcoming events or trips.
Annually, the Math Club runs the Rocket City competitions school wide, and the AATM and AMC 10/12 competitions for any interested UHS students. The UHS Math Club also participates in the Log 1, ASMA, Mathleague, Purple Comet, Mu Alpha Theta, Who Wants to Be a Mathematician, the National Assessment and Testing series, and more, The UHS Math Club also frequently hosts competitions for younger students from schools in the surrounding areas.
Our numerous organized events do nothing to detract from our results. Our excellent results in national and international competitions have added up, and cemented the UHS Math Club as absolutely the best in the state.
But don’t let any of that daunt you, the Math Club is open to anyone who wishes to participate. If you’re interested in joining, show up at one of our meetings and we’ll get you started.
